The conveniently-located airport – right next to the M1 and within an hour’s drive for eight million people – offers an effortless start to any holiday, with 98% of customers clearing security in under 15 minutes and enjoying a wide range of improved facilities in the departure lounge.

Three main airlines – Ryanair, Jet2 and TUI – offer a variety of destinations to choose from throughout the winter season, when the customer experience is even easier than ever.

For those chasing winter sun, all three carriers fly to some of the most popular destinations at this time of year – Tenerife, Alicante, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Faro. All offer fabulous beaches, warm to mild weather, beautiful sightseeing opportunities, along with great food and drink experiences and nightlife for those who want it.

Many more destinations are also available – such as Jet2 flying to Heraklion in Crete, Antalya in Turkey and Agadir in Morocco this winter for sun seekers. New routes with TUI this winter also include Antalya along with Egypt’s Sharm el Sheikh – both offering exceptional hospitality and warmth, with the TUI Magic Life Redsina hotel in Sharm El Sheikh bringing a new concept hotel to TUI customers for the first time.

Two new weekly services will operate to the Polish city from November 27 to December 21, along with Berlin, Budapest, Krakow, Prague and Vienna until January. All offer magical Christmas card scenes of cobbled streets, twinkling lights, traditional wooden stalls bursting with handmade gifts and local treats, along with festive music and events.

There is also a one-off special flight to Swedish Lapland on December 23 with Transun, offering a magical family experience for Christmas including a sleigh ride, husky sledding and of course meeting Santa.CSH_ITA_PAS_23_F0218_2 (3)

For skiers travelling from East Midlands Airport this season, there’s plenty of choice. TUI fly to Salzburg and Chambery while Jet2 fly to Geneva – all offering gateways to some of the finest Alpine skiing available. TUI also fly to Turin which opens up the option of Italy’s Susa Valley, while Ryanair can connect you to Malaga, Krakow and Prague for access to the Sierra Nevada, low-budget Polish resorts and the Czech Republic’s Giant Mountains.
