Passengers should allow extra time for journeys to and from East Midlands Airport during Download Festival
East Midlands Airport (EMA) is advising passengers to allow plenty of time for their journeys to and from the airport during the Download Festival which runs until Sunday 11 June.
Significant traffic is expected during the entire event affecting all roads around the airport.
Airport users can check the latest traffic updates before they set off on East Midlands Airport’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
Donington Park, which is the Festival site, is located next to East Midlands Airport, four miles west of junction 23a of the M1 and five miles from junction 24.
Warnings of traffic disruption are being displayed by National Highways on electronic message boards while extra traffic officers will also be deployed at key road junctions for the duration of the festival.
