Choose East Midlands Airport for a last-minute bank holiday getaway
Around 70,000 people will travel through East Midlands Airport (EMA) this Bank Holiday weekend.
Some last-minute flights are still available for those looking for summer sun or a city break this August bank holiday, with a total of 60 destinations to choose from.
Served by seven airlines – Ryanair, JET2.com. TUI, Flybe, Eastern Airways, Aurigny and Blue Islands – EMA provides a fast and friendly gateway to popular destinations in Spain, the Balearics and Canaries, Turkey, Greece and Greek Islands, among many others (full list below).
Eight million people live within an hour’s drive of EMA, with passengers choosing it for ease and convenience. Last year there were fewer delays at EMA than at any other UK airport and over 99% of passengers continue to clear security in under 15 minutes.
EMA is expecting to serve near to 70,000 travellers to destinations across Europe over the course of the bank holiday weekend.
EMA’s Customer & Planning Director Mike Grimes says: “Late August and early September are popular times for families to get away for that last bit of summer sun and our airport is within easy reach for millions of people across the Midlands. Close to the motorway network and small and efficient enough for most people to get from their car to the departure lounge in 20 minutes, EMA is a great choice for a quick getaway this bank holiday.”
