Four hours free wi-fi at East Midlands Airport

Summary

East Midlands Airport has extended free wi-fi access for passengers from one hour to four.

This came into effect on 1 May in time for the summer season when the airport sees a sudden growth in passenger numbers. May to October are the airport’s busiest months.

Chris Drury, East Midlands Airport’s Commercial & Operations Manager, says: “We’re delighted to offer passengers longer free wi-fi access making their time in the airport more convenient and enjoyable. However, we hope that very few passengers will need all four hours as the average waiting time to board flights after check-in is an hour.”

Currently almost 5m passengers fly to and from EMA a year. Last summer was the airport’s busiest since 2008 and it is hoped that this year passenger numbers will be even higher.

This summer’s new summer routes are:

  • Jet2 - Bodrum, Turkey
  • Ryanair – Seville (continuation of their winter service)
